Normally, a computer obtains its DNS address automatically, but under certain conditions users need to set the DNS address manually. For example, businesses, companies, and schools all have their own local area networks, and users may browse very slowly or be unable to open web pages, with messages such as “DNS resolution error”. As for how to configure DNS, this question is indeed very simple for computer IT staff, but for novice users it is a mystery. So how can you do it yourself in a simple way? Today, Fangyuan’s editor would like to share the DNS setup method with non-IT users.
1. Right-click “My Network Places” on your desktop (“Network” in Windows 7) and select “Properties”. 2. In the window that pops up, select “Change adapter settings”. 3. Double-click “Local Area Connection” and, under “General”, click the “Properties” button. 4. Note that you should select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and then click Properties. 5. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter your local preferred DNS server address. If you are not sure of the preferred DNS server address for your location, you can ask your local network provider or search Baidu for the preferred DNS address. After entering it, click OK.
